Marine medical examinations are required by Transport Canada for anyone working on a seafaring vessel in Canada. The examination process ensures that seafarers are fit for sea service\u00a0(with or without limitations) in accordance with the established standards set by Transport Canada.<\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span><\/span>The evaluation will take 45 minutes to 1 hour and includes:<\/h4>\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<h4>visual acuity<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<h4>colour vision<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<h4>hearing<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<h4>complete physical exam<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span>Upon successful completion of your exam, you will be given a copy of your medical exam, for review and issuance of a marine medical certificate. Southwell Medical Centre will submit the form to Transport Canada on your behalf.
